After picking up your motorhome, it’s an easy 2.5 hour Interstate drive into Alabama for your first night in the State Capital, Montgomery.

Suggested Campground: The Woods RV Park

Day 2: Mobile (185 miles)

Heading for New Orleans but you need a break. Mobile, Alabama, seems like a good place and the Shady Acres Campground will offer a warm welcome.

Day 3: New Orleans (160 miles)

Heading for the historic, gracious and unique city of New Orleans: the birthplace of jazz. You can walk from The French Quarter RV Park into the heart of New Orleans. The wonderful restaurants, world famous music and nightlife might make you extend your stay here in the ‘Big Easy’.

Suggested Campground: French Quarter RV Resort

Day 4: Jackson (180 miles)

North now into Elvis country. It’s a long ride to ‘Elvis Town’ so we are breaking the journey just south of Jackson, Mississippi – another State Capital.

Suggested Campground: The Swinging Bridge RV Park

Day 5: Tupelo (160 miles)

Leave the freeway traffic and take the very scenic Natchez Trace bound for Tupelo, Elvis Presley’s birthplace and home town until the age of thirteen. It’s worth a visit to Elvis’s birthplace and the museum dedicated to his life.

Suggested Campground: Barnes Crossing RV Park

Day 6: Memphis (110 miles)

Drive a couple of hours north through the Holly Springs National Forest to Memphis. Where better to stay than within walking distance of Graceland, Elvis Presley’s home. The Memphis-Graceland RV Park & Campground is located on 19 acres just off Elvis Presley Boulevard behind Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel.

Suggested Campground: Memphis-Graceland RV Park

Day 7: Nashville (230 miles)

To the home of Country Music and the city that saw Dolly Parton and a host of other great singers become international stars. Just north of Nashville is Goodlettsville and the Nashville Country RV Park from here you can visit Nashville’s major attractions such as the Grand Old Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame and the Jack Daniels Distillery.

Suggested Campground: Nashville Country RV Park

Day 8: Chattanooga (140 miles)

Just over two hours to our last stop of this trip near Chattanooga. Raccoon Mountain RV Park & Campground is the closest campground to the area’s major attractions: Tennessee Aquarium, Lookout Mountain, Southern Belle Riverboat, IMAX Theatre, and downtown Chattanooga.
