Day 1: Arrive Dallas
Welcome to Dallas! After you arrive in the “Lone Star State” and settle in at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours! Take in this fascinating city’s sights and get into the “Lone Star” spirit. If you are looking for something to do, check out Klyde Warren Park, a lovely green space full pretty sights and delicious food trucks.

Day 2: Dallas
Today is a history buff’s dream. Get ready to step back in time with a visit the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. You’ll see the exact spot from where Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated our beloved President Kennedy on that fateful day in 1963. The museum exhibit features films, photographs, and artifacts that chronicle President Kennedy's life, death, and legacy.
Day 3: Dallas - San Antonio
Transfer on your own to the Amtrak® station and board the Texas Eagle to San Antonio. Enjoy the colourful desert landscapes as you wind south through the great state of Texas. Once you arrive in San Antonio, you will transfer on your own to your hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day 4: San Antonio
Get to know San Antonio on a hop-on, hop-off tour that gives you a chance to explore the most popular destinations in this city at your own pace. Just hop off, scope out the exciting attractions, and then hop back on. Uncover the mysteries of the Alamo. Explore Mission San Jose. Spend some time in the historic Market Square. The trolley makes hourly stops, so you can take your time and enjoy each destination at your leisure.
Day 5: San Antonio - New Orleans
Transfer on your own to the Amtrak station and board the Sunset Limited to New Orleans. Take in the stunning southwestern desert landscape as it passes by. Upon your arrival into the “Big Easy,” you will transfer on your own to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is yours to start exploring this festive city. If you are looking for something to do, why not head to the exciting French Quarter, where there is always something to see, and of course, eat!

Day 6: New Orleans
You are in for a treat today! Your day kicks off with a jazz brunch at the famous Court of Two Sisters restaurant. Then, explore all the “Crescent City” has to offer on a citywide tour. Absorb the sights and sounds of the world-famous French Quarter and historic Jackson Square. Visit the city’s remarkable cemeteries or "Cities of the Dead." Hear fascinating tales of voodoo and piracy on Bayou St. John as you make your way to the shores of Lake Pontchartrain. See the longest bridge over water in the world, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. Make sure you have your camera with you because not only is New Orleans picturesque, but the city’s stunning architecture also provides many great photo ops. Dinner at a popular restaurant will be substituted when brunch at the Court of Two Sisters is unavailable. B
Day 7: New Orleans
Today you will experience the timeless beauty of Southern Louisiana in a custom-built swamp boat as you travel through part of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park. During your bayou tour, native guides will reveal the mysteries of the swamps, bayous, and the Cajun "joie de vivre." You will also get a chance to observe the nesting grounds of local Louisiana wildlife, like alligators, egrets, raccoons, nutria, and many species of snakes.
Day 8: Depart New Orleans
Spend the day at your leisure and then make the choice to either stay a while longer in New Orleans, move on to another great American experience or head to the airport for your flight home.
